Hebrews 4: 16
Let us therefore draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace to help in time of need.
Father, what would you like to show me about this verse?
Confidence can also be translated as boldness or trust. Insert each word into the verse and feel the difference each word makes in your heart. Yes, you should feel confident anytime you come into my presence. Moreover, you should feel confident in coming into my presence with boldness, expressing in your demeanor and heart attitude that you belong in my throne room and in my presence. Lastly, you should trust me and feel safe with complete ease anytime you come to me. You should trust in your right to be in my throne room but let us address the question of when you are allowed to boldly enter the Throne Room of Grace.
Beloved, I want you to come at all times, even in those times when you have nothing to say. You are welcome to come and drink from the fountain when you have need but you do not have to wait until some dire situation is upon you. Why wait until the Egyptians are upon you to separate the sea; why wait until you are bowed down with worry. If you will come and spend time in my presence routinely you will never feel the stress of the Egyptians breathing down your neck. I will tell you what to do and when to act. Time spent in the throne room will prevent you from being bowed down by pressures.
Come. Soak up my presence. Breathe in my Spirit. Listen to the angels sing to Jesus. Just lie here and bask in the radiant light of his glory. Come! Your invitation is always open.
Questions for the Lord:
- Father, you make the throne room sound so peaceful. Can I really absorb that while my body is still here on earth?
- Tell me how I enter your throne room?
